OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY

Hi and thanks for visiting my website!

 

I’m the Accidental Potter (aka Steph) and I create pottery around my day job and my family (to keep me sane 😊).

 

I have a teeny tiny “studio” in my front garden in the eastern suburbs of Brisbane. It’s just big enough to house my wheel, tools and works in progress. Most of my pieces are thrown on the wheel, but I also love hand-building small pieces or combining the two methods. After their first firing I glaze my pieces at the dining room table and then wait through their second firing to see the finished product! Because of all my pieces are hand made, they are not completely perfect - mugs might not be perfectly round at the top, or pairs might be different sizes - but I think this is part of their charm!

 

Have a browse at my range - if there’s something that takes your fancy, but you’d like a different size or colour, I am also open to custom orders - you just need to allow around 4 weeks (or a bit longer for bigger orders). Message me for further details.
